Dominican Republic
In the heart of the Dominican Republic, Mustard Seed Communities stands as a source of compassion and dedicated care for abandoned children with disabilities.
Since its expansion to the country in 2001, we have been unwavering in our commitment to providing a loving and nurturing home for the most vulnerable in the Dominican Republic. One such testament to this dedication is Hogar Immanuel in Cangrejo, Puerto Plata, which has evolved into a sanctuary offering tailored support and opportunities for growth to children and adults with disabilities. As we embark on new endeavors, including the construction of Hogar Niños de Dios on the outskirts of Santiago, we continue to play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of abandoned children with disabilities, offering them not just shelter, but a pathway to a brighter and more hopeful future.

Caring Homes for Individuals with Disabilities
Focused on providing compassionate care to both children and adults with a range of disabilities, our residential initiatives in the Dominican Republic cater to a diverse array of challenges. From schizophrenia and autism to hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy, our programs are designed to address a wide spectrum of needs and ensure the well-being of those we serve.
Hogar Immanuel
Cangrejo: In 2001, Mustard Seed Communities extended its mission to the Dominican Republic, offering residential care to abandoned children with disabilities. Acquiring property in the town of Cangrejo near Puerto Plata, MSC established Hogar Immanuel. Recognizing the growing need for care, MSC expanded the home in 2007 by acquiring an adjacent property. This fully developed site now comprises four cottages, a physiotherapy room, a chapel, and on-site housing for mission volunteers. Doubling its capacity, Hogar Immanuel cares for 48 children and young adults with disabilities, significantly broadening MSC’s reach to serve the most vulnerable in the Dominican Republic
Hogar Niños de Dios
Santiago: Situated on the outskirts of the Dominican Republic’s second-largest city, this new home, set to open in 2024, will serve as a haven for abandoned children with disabilities. The comprehensive facility, featuring four residential cottages, a learning and therapy center, a health clinic, a chapel, and volunteer housing, is dedicated to providing personalized care for each child. Envisioned to accommodate 56 children, Hogar Niños de Dios will not only offer shelter but also deliver education, therapy, and recreational activities, fostering a brighter future for the most vulnerable members of society.
