Food for the Hungry
Our nutrition programs not only provide essential nourishment but also serve as a cornerstone in our holistic approach to care, addressing the foundational well-being of individuals around the world.
We prioritize the need for life-giving food.
By giving access to nutritious meals, we strive to ensure that each person in our communities receives the fundamental support necessary for their overall health and development.

“Every child has become everyone’s child—the nutrition programs have become a family. It is not only about the food but about the wellbeing of a child as well at large.”

Nutrient-rich Meals for Individuals with Disabilities
Ensuring proper nutrition is a top priority in caring for children and adults with disabilities. Through personalized diets and medical care, our residents experience significant improvements in their health and overall well-being.
Mustard Seed Communities collaborates with nutritionists to design meals tailored to each individual’s specific needs. Emphasizing sustainable agriculture, we cultivate a substantial portion of this nourishing food on-site, utilizing farms, chickens, sheep, pigs, tilapia ponds, and bee hives at many of our homes. The harvested produce goes straight from the earth to their meals, providing wholesome and fresh nutrition.
600
Much of the food enjoyed by over 600 individuals with disabilities in our care is grown or raised on Mustard Seed Communities’ farms.
Nourishing Minds and Bodies of Early Learners
In Jamaica and Zimbabwe, nutrition takes center stage at the Little Angels Learning Centers, where children not only receive early-learning education but are also provided with two nourishing meals each day.
Mustard Seed Communities recognizes that addressing the fundamental need for food is paramount to empowering young minds with education. Beyond our residential programs, we extend our commitment to education, ensuring that even the smallest members of our communities have access to both essential nutrition and learning opportunities.
Christ in the Garbage: Extending Our Care to Feed Our Community
Mustard Seed Communities actively addresses food insecurity in local communities near our homes in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
In the Dominican Republic, Mustard Seed Communities initiated a bi-monthly meal program for residents near the landfill in La Union, providing sustenance to those living and working in challenging conditions. In Nicaragua, Christ in the Garbage Ministries delivers food packages and engages in prayer with residents in Managua’s landfill. We remain committed to evaluating ways to continue serving the nutritional needs of our extended communities and addressing their evolving needs.
