Nqaba is MSC Zimbabwe’s “miracle child.”
Born with phocomelia, a rare condition that left one leg severely underdeveloped, Nqaba’s future felt unsteady and uncertain.
Four months later, he arrived at Mustard Seed Communities in Zimbabwe, where his story of transformation began.
Despite early fears that Nqaba may never walk, MSC’s caregivers never gave up hope. Nqaba’s indomitable spirit and the unwavering presence of love and support paved the way for him to achieve a miracle. Soon, he was equipped with a prosthetic leg and defied society’s bleak odds.
Today, Nqaba is thriving—active, mobile, and full of joy.
Affectionately called a “miracle child” by his caregivers, Nqaba embraces life with uncontainable energy. Whether playing football, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, or drumming to his heart’s content, he finds delight in every moment. Nqaba excels in school, cherishing the opportunity for learning and connection with peers. His days are a blend of music, prayer, and the simple joys of childhood.
For us, Nqaba’s story is a powerful reminder of what is possible when care, generosity, and hope come together. Every child has boundless potential – we believe that communities have the power and responsibility to transform young lives so that doors of opportunity open for them and hope is plentiful.
For Nqaba, his story will mark him with courage and resilience as he embraces his future in our MSC Family.
